COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
WISH TO INVITE APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WORKER

This person will work as part of a team implementing the workplan
actions for Bere, Whiddy & Dursey Islands as prioritised by The Bere
Island Projects Group CLG management team.
THE PERSON APPOINTED WILL BE EXPECTED TO HAVE:
* A minimum of three years experience in Community Development
* Relevant 3rd level qualification (desired but not essential)
* Excellent knowledge of islands and island issues
* Knowledge of the underlying principles and issues relating to
poverty and disadvantage
* Understanding of community development and social inclusion issues
* Knowledge of inter agency work
* Experience of facilitating groups in a community setting,
organising community events including working with children and the
youth
* Experience of business planning, applying for funding and
networking with voluntary & statutory agencies
* Knowledge of community health work
* Excellent skills in facilitation, report-writing interpersonal,
communication, organisational and IT skills
* Ability to work as part of a team and on her/his own initiative
* Access to own transport is essential
